Untersuchungen zur zyklusabhängigen funktionellen Morphologie der equinen Zervix

Abstract

Ziel der vorliegenden Untersuchung war es, die Methode der exfoliativen Zervikalzytologie bei Zuchtstuten zu etablieren und die Dichte eosinophiler Granulozyten und Mastzellen als Bestandteil des lokalen Abwehrsystems in Vagina, Zervix und Uterus und ihre potenzielle Beeinflussung durch die Zyklusphasen und die peripheren Hormonkonzentrationen zu untersuchen. One aim of the present study was to establish the exfoliative cervical cytology in the gynaecological examination of brood mares. A further aim was to examine the frequency of eosinophil granulocytes and mast cells as a part of the local immune system of vagina, cervix and uterus and its potential influence by the estrous cycle and the peripheral hormone concentrations on these cell populations.
