Item Internationale Problemlagen - internationale Lehrformen : Bericht über ein sozialwissenschaftliches Lehrforschungsprojekt an den Universitäten Gießen und Kazan (Tatarstan)(2006) Langenohl, Andreas; Westphal, KirstenDie Beziehungen zwischen der Europäischen Union und Russland sind ein wichtiges Feld sozialwissenschaftlicherForschung: Erstens prägen diese Beziehungen das Leben der Bürgerinnen und Bürger der EU und Russlands entscheidendmit, zweitens handelt es sich um den für unsere Zeit so charakteristischen Fall von Beziehungen zwischenstaatlichen und supranationalen Institutionen. Dieses internationale Forschungsfeld ist in den vergangenenbeiden Semestern in eine ihm entsprechende Lehrform umgesetzt worden, nämlich in ein Projektseminar,das interdisziplinär politikwissenschaftlich und soziologisch angelegt war und international durchgeführtwurde: An der Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen und an der Staatlichen Universität Kazan (Tatarstan, RussischeFöderation) fanden während des Semesters parallel Lehrveranstaltungen statt, und in den vorlesungsfreien Zeitentrafen sich die Studierenden zu Workshops zunächst in Kazan, dann in Gießen. Auf diese Weise wurdennicht nur Fakten vermittelt, sondern auch wechselseitige Wahrnehmungsmuster und unterschiedliche Unterrichtsstilethematisiert. Die inhaltlichen Ergebnisse des Projektseminars wurden in Kazan und Gießen in zweiSammelbänden veröffentlicht.Item Kaliningrad - eine europäische Pilotregion? : Die Perspektive der Friedens- und Konfliktforschung(2006) Birckenbach, Hanne-MargretDie Kaliningrader Region (Oblast) im Nordosten Europas zwischen Polen und Litauen gelegen, zählt heute knappeine Millionen Einwohner, ist flächenmäßig nicht größer als Schleswig-Holstein oder Nordirland und gehört politischzu Russland. Nach der Erweiterung der Europäischen Union treffen hier wie nirgends sonst westeuropäischeund russische Interessen unmittelbar aufeinander. Die Friedens- und Konfliktforschung analysiert daherdas Konfliktpotential im Kaliningrader Gebiet und fragt danach, wie es gelingen kann, die vorhandenen Spannungenzu kanalisieren und in produktive Bahnen zu lenken. Worin besteht das Problem, warum ist seine Lösungso schwierig und was lässt sich aus dem tatsächlichen Verlauf der europäischen Kaliningrad-Politik überdie Bedingungen einer Politik der Konfliktprävention lernen? Diese drei Fragen werden am Institut für Politikwissenschaftder Universität Gießen zusammen mit dem Schleswig-Holsteinischen Institut für Friedenswissenschaftenan der Universität Kiel in einem von der Berghof-Stiftung für Konfliktforschung geförderten ForschungsprojektPilotregion Kaliningrad? Prozessbegleitende Präventionsforschung untersucht.
