This work describes the development of an N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) with a meta[6]cycloparaphenylene as a wingtip, which was used to synthesize an NHC-gold(I) complex. During the development of this compound, different approaches to synthesize functionalized [10]Cycloparaphenylenes and meta[n]cycloparaphenylenes were investigated, too. Moreover, solid-state structures of important key compounds and their photophysical properties are further discussed in this work.
