A-142 (miR-142) is emerging as a major regulator of cell fate decision in the hematopoietic cell lineages (Chen et al., 2004) as well as in the maintenance of pluripotency of embryonic stem cells (Sladitschek and Neveu, 2015). However, miR-142 is also expressed in many other tissues and evidence suggests that it may play a more pleiotropic role during embryonic development and disease. Therefore miR-142 is regarded as an important regulator of many biological processes and associated signaling pathways during embryonic development, homeostasis, and disease.en
