JLUpub serves as an institutional repository for the publication and storage of text publications and research data of JLU members and affiliates. When using JLUpub, log files are created to secure operation and for error analysis and are kept for 30 days, after which they are deleted.
The log files contain the following data:

IP address
Time of access (date/time)
User agent, which includes Browser manufacturer and version,
device type (mobile device manufacturer/type indicator), operating system and version, HTML rendering engine used.

Session cookies are also created and used and stored by the calling browser for JLUpub to function. Beyond that, no user tracking takes place. Submission of publications for publication on JLUpub requires authentication. This is done either by using the g-/s-identifier or by registering and activating a mail address. When registering for the first time, a JLUpub user is created with the following data:

First and last name
E-Mail address

This JLUpub user can be deleted upon request by the user. When the g-/s-identifier is deleted, access to JLUpub is automatically blocked and the user will be deleted. For questions about JLUpub privacy, please contact: jlupub@bibsys.uni-giessen.de
